The DSU services are provided by a group of experienced pathologists and technical staff. All practices are encouraged to submit cases. The UCVM recognizes the integral role of the veterinarian in disease investigation; therefore, the DSU does not accept cases directly from non-veterinarians and does not provide interpretation of results to owners.

Arranging for delivery is the responsibility of the submitter and the DSU can provide information regarding courier services. Owners/producers may deliver animals to the CSB provided submissions are accompanied by a completed DSU submission form from the referring veterinarian.
